Eric Robison, a native of Tucson, Arizona has lived, painted and explored life in Portland since 1998. A BFA graduate of Pacific Northwest College of Art, Eric has shown his paintings and installation pieces in galleries in Arizona, San Francisco and Portland. In 2003 Eric and his brother Kris envisioned producing art beyond the walls of a traditional gallery and created Backspace as a place to meld art, technology, great coffee and community life. www.backspace.bz In 2006 and with his Someday partners, Eric hoped to push the direction of art and community beyond its traditional boundaries even further and is excited about what this space in historic Old Town Portland will evolve to be. Viva L’Arte!
When he is not working on his dream to built beautiful, vibrant spaces in which to meld art and community life, Eric lives in Northeast Portland with his partner, Jennifer Kerns-Robison,visiting professor of U.S. and Women’s History at Portland State University and Lewis and Clark College. They have a two year old daughter, Charlotte, who is smart, beautiful and a little silly. A son is on the way soon! While at home, Eric can often be found gardening, playing piano, painting in his studio, fixing up the old house or, more likely, pushing Charlotte around on her tricycle.
