PHASE ONE: WORDS + MUSIC: The Phase One series has had a remarkable first year, hosting eminent figures in both the literary and musical undergrounds and inspiring a loyal scene of followers eager to see what's next in curator Garett Strickland's plan for his chamber of the NW Art Scene. February 15th marks the anniversary of the first-ever Phase One, held at The Towne Lounge in 2006, with another jaw-dropping line-up and big plans for Year Two.

About the artist
Born in Iowa, Tom Blood has been living in Portland on and off for many years now. He's been a member of the writing community there since 1996, when he arrived, reading at Cafe Lena, open mic. Contributing to and involved in various publications throughout the years, The Sky Position is his first published book of poetry. Tom tours as Grand Junction Grand Therapy, riffing from his poetry and stories with the most unusual use of a beat machine accompanying the humorous "read".
