ESTRADASPHERE with STOLEN BABIES

Estradasphere are a tireless tribe of experimentors from the rock labs of Santa Cruz. Showing the lingering influence of psychedelic 60s movie soundtracks, deep explorations into the music of Japan and the Gypsies, the essential underpinnings of jazz, and the riff-seeking missiles of metal; they are, in every sense of the word, the California Highway Patrol of outer space.

Stolen Babies are proof positive that the Old World has risen from the grave, its black-painted mouth hungry for the blood of the Modern Are. Baroque thrash that, like Estradasphere, is as likely to include the tuba and xylophone as the trap set and distorted guitar; delivered by a quartet of living dolls straight out of Jhonnen Vasquez. You may have seen the Babies closing for Degenerate Art Ensemble in September. If so, you'll come again. If not—kid—don't miss out again.

STREAMING LIVE FEBRUARY 9th!

About the artist

Stolen Babies have been described as playing quirky-Goth, prop-pop, metal, cabaret, punk, art-rock, thrash, industrial, and "I don't know what the hell fun songs." With an energetic live show, they would just like to think that their music is simply fun to dance and fall down to.

Rani Sharone, Dominique Persi, Gil Sharone, and Ben Rico have grown together through musical mishaps since adolescence, beginning with a 12+ member theatrical group called The Fratellis. In fact, "Stolen Babies" was the title of a song/skit from those awkward early days.

A video for the song "Push Button," (produced by Oingo Boingo's John Avila) is nearing completion, featuring the artwork of, graphic novelist extraordinaire, Crab Scrambly.

Stolen Babies are currently recording at Polymorph Studio in Oakland, CA with Dan Rathbun of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. Their debut full-length "There Be Squabbles Ahead" will be released in early 2006...
