LEUKEMIA SOCIETY BENEFIT featuring DAHLIA, SOPHE LUX, STALKING JANE, and DJ ENTROPY
Jessica and Andrew met in the beginning of 2005 after leaving previous projects in search of a vision they found was shared by each of them. Stalking Jane juxtaposes organic human elements with their mechanical counterparts through neo classical arrangements and carefully crafted soundscapes. Jessica's haunt-ing and soulful voice is a natural fit for Andrew's combination of electronic alchemy and live instrumentation. Tyler joined in the summer of 2005 to bring excess within control that can soulfully embellish the songs or drive them with his frenzied guitar playing.
Andrew has been involved in musical projects that have spanned three conti-nents and 15 years; playing clubs across Tokyo, Paris and London. In the Northwest, he has been involved with projects such as Gossamer, Cerulean Winter, Lava de Mure, and Julian Tulips Licorice which headlined venues and clubs from the Roseland on down. These bands have played events and festivals that are as diverse as the Main Stage at the Oregon Country Fair to Severina's Fetish Balls. They have also performed live on the Radio at KBOO, KPSU and KLCC as well as receiving a degree of commercial success on radio in Chicago and Atlanta. Andrew has shared the stage with international acts including Sol Invictus and Switch Blade Symphony. The Willamette Week has said Andrew's sound goes from soaring to searing, reminiscent of bands like Sky Cries Mary.
Jessica, a classically trained violist, began her career in Eugene where she per-formed with the project Olympus Mons. Her first solo album, Milepost 13, debuted in 1999 and Cain's Education followed in 2003. In Eugene she per-formed in venues such as the McDonald Theater as well as live radio shows on stations such as KLCC. Her recorded work has also received air play on KWVA and was featured in the independent film "Pizza Girl". Eugene's Oregon Daily Emerald, wrote "To say Jessica Plotkin possesses originality is an understate-ment." Her distinctive style is translated best on stage through her multi-faceted performances in which audiences can both see and hear her playing viola, singing in both Japanese and English, and manipulating her voice through technology.
Stalking Jane is drawing a fan base by tantalizing fans from previous projects and acquiring new ones with its inimitable sound and newest recordings; and looks forward to putting on many more dramatic live shows throughout the Northwest.
