PERFORMING AT SOMEDAY

NOMMO OGO, MYRIONYMOS MARIONETTE (with soundtrack by POISON RING), and IN THE DEEP MUSEUM

Ah, such rare and pretty creatures roam the underground! Nommo Ogo are a legend in the world of abstract electronic music, co-founders of the Katabatik Metacommunications Platform, stalwarts of the Autonomous Mutant Festival, shadowy monks of the warehouse monastaries of Oakland. I only know of them playing Portland twice in the ten years I've lived here. Here's show number three. Myrionymos Marionette and In The Deep Museum are two very different projects, born from the common roots of a butoh dancer and musician stepping out of their familiar backgrounds to form a cohesive music and performance project. The former is headed by brYan leFey (with music from another of Mssr. leFey's alter egos, Poison Ring), the latter by Vanessa Skantze. The former is intricate and electronic and turntable-based, the latter is rugged and tribal and drum-infused. All three are like arrows aimed at the base of your spine, where understanding waits to be awakened.

STREAMING LIVE DECEMBER 28th!

About the artist

Every breath has photosynthesized within a plant. Each synapse once sparked the fight or flight of some other beast. This blood was once a river merging with the sea. Each bone once fossilized beneath the soil. All such is occurring and will recur.

These veins are catacombs for the myriad potential humans this one might have been.

Deep within the strata of the corpus is hidden another flesh. A flesh devoid of identity. The flesh unseen which may yet be experienced.

Spoken here is the inherent potential emedded within each. Metaphor is the other half of truth.

This dance, entitled ERA, is a temporal offering to mark—and simultaneously distort—the evolution of history. The union of verticle and "horizontal time. Past and future bound end to end. Tooth to tail.
