PERFORMING AT SOMEDAY

Friday, Dec 15 › 9pm › FREE!

ST. VITUS DANCE CLUB: Starring MICHELE WYLEN, DOWNCASTE, GEJIUS, and more TBA.

St. Vitus Dance Club is a place for movers, both of the amateur and semi-professional divisions. Cutting-edge club music and atmosphere, intermingled with specially-created performances that blur the line between the dancefloor and the dance stage.

This week sees a run-off for electroclash president between newcomer Michele Wylen, who just played her first-ever live show opening for Ladytron (!); and Downcaste, who sound like a cross between Adult and a couple of crazy kids. And of course, we have the valedictorian, a young genius named Gejius who might be accused of playing IDM by the girl from Minneapolis who came in here the other day hustling for a gig. But he's far too soulful and inspired for any particular genre label, using his laptop like a saxophone satellite dish tuned to the jump jazz of another star. Prance, girls.

STREAMING LIVE DECEMBER 15th!

About the artist

Electronica artist, Gejius, wants music to open up the doors of the mind and allow the listener to explore the infinite. He describes his music in terms of creating a timeline and soundtrack for his life. He says, "My past and uncertain future unfurls every measure before my ears. It gives me a chance to rise above it all, take a second look before I start to come back down. It also lets me explore not only the physical world, but the world in me."

In order to explore the worlds around and in himself, Gejius writes music that sets a mood. The songs flow from one to the next in an imperceptible flow. They are not so much individual pieces to stand alone, but part of a much grander vision. Songs have been accompanied by a set of keys and/or electronic instruments, adding to the atmospheric quality. The mood is always contemplative, but it is achieved in so many different ways. Sometimes the piano is put at the forefront of a song, lending a more classical vibe. On other songs, the electronic instruments and beats lead the music. Those songs tend to be more upbeat and experimental. No matter how the songs are constructed the result is always the same: an uninterrupted fantasy trip through Gejius music infused world.

Gejius is releasing his debut album, Black Eyes this Fall and plans to tour around the Portland, Oregon area this summer. Always scribbling down his latest sonic creations, he has no trouble bringing new music to his growing number of fans. Gejius is currently working with A&R Select in Hollywood, CA- an independent A&R firm that is presenting their music for possible record deal opportunities, FILM, TV and Video score and publishing deals.
