FAUN FABLES with A DICTIONARY OF BLOOD THEATER, ELVIS AND THE CREEPY TALES THAT CHILL ENSEMBLE, and NATHAN GARNON and AMANDA MYERS

Bedtime stories for sleepless former children, told till well after bedtime. Faun Fables spins musical yarns that Kurt Weill's mother might have told; A Dictionary of Blood Theater reinterprets true stories of the doomed through the puppet stage; and John "Elvis" Schroeder Himself favors us with a set of his chilling and hilarious ghost stories. We also play host to a fine young chamber duet who have elected not to come up with a name for themselves, individually known as Nathan Garnon on the cello and Amanda Myers on the violin.

STREAMING LIVE NOVEMBER 4th!

About the artist

John “Elvis” Schroeder is a Portland institution. Singer, street performer, storyteller, professional wrestler, talk show host, minister, and King of Rock and Roll; he has survived from the halcyon days of pre-code Cascadia through the magnifying-lens spotlight that’s singed away so many of his contemporaries.

2005 saw the limited release of his latest spoken word recording: “Creepy Tales That Chill”, an album of extemporaneous ghost stories soundtracked by a sampling of his hometown’s most adventurous musicians. Nolon Ashley, Noah Mickens, Julian Tulip, Guy Tyler, and Marty V. By turns hilarious and genuinely disturbing, these stories are slowly but surely making their way from head to head.

For Halloween ’06, Elvis is taking his act to the next level of unbearable terror: Someday Lounge is making our space and creative team available to The King to create a full-fledged interactive Haunted House based entirely on the fruits of his imagination. With Elvis Himself as the host and star attraction; and guest performers including live circus freaks, macabre puppet shows, and spooky musical acts; Demonville is the hottest ticket this Halloween season, bar none.
