About the artist
Book of Black Earth formed in late 2003 from the ashes of Teen Cthulhu. Two members, TJ Cowgill on guitar and vocals and Hank Guthrie on keyboards, joined with Joe Axler (Skarp, Splatterhouse, Closed Casket) on drums, Larry Perrigo (Wormwood) on bass, and Rebekah Dunbar (Kill Sadie, The Fitness) on guitar and wrote three songs for a demo which was released in 2004 on our their own label Cryptstyle Records. That was limited to 150 copies. Two songs from that demo later appeared on a split with Fall Of The Bastards which was released in 2005 on Evil Morgue Records.
Larry left the band in 2004 to focus on Wormwood and Jeffery Hayes was recruited on bass that same year. Rebekah Dunbar left the band in 2006 to be replaced by Dav Tafoya-Garcia (Countdown To Armagaeddon).
In October 2005 the band recorded their first full length titled "The Feast" which is due out September 2006. Currently the band is working on new material for a split LP with the Seattle band Lesbian and is playing shows locally until this fall when they will tour the US for the first time.
